Desire to do in Independent study

Basically, I want to do pre-production for thesis next year in my independent study course. Thinking of thesis, my initial idea will consist of the trailer scene for my animation in japanese style. Including, music, animation, credits and etc. However, in my Independent study course, I am looking forward to prepare for my thesis. For example, character design, story, background, props design and plan for the whole scene. These elements can be developed and improved during independent study course.
